Ideas for Community Engagement - preschool

Being new to Hauraki it takes time to form connections and discover what community groups are active in this area. Having taken part in kahui ako wānanga during 2022 and groups during my maternity leave I now have some more ideas for community engagement. Bright Smiles Garden Singing Thames Ilam Church Seabird Centre bird hides - conservation week Kauaeranga visitor centre Library visit Talk together sessions with parents - must contact During Covid our retirement village visits have stopped happening - instead we could invite grandparents / lions club etc in for reading days. Transition to school - questionare to parents and new entrant teachers - what skills do you value as mportant for transition to school? Could give ideas - recognise name/ write name count in sequence to 10 / recognise numbers to 5, participate in mat/story times. On returning to mahi I want to extend visits to other primary schools.
